London is an incredibly lively, diverse and wonderful city and there are endless amounts of things to do. Some of the most well-known landmarks in Britain are in the city, so it’s great for sightseeing and is definitely a great place to visit for students with the abundance of cafes, restaurants, bars and clubs. Here’s a guide to some of the best activities in London.
Museums
London is full to the brim with free entry museums, such as the Natural History Museum, the Science Museum and the British Museum. If you’re the type of person that’s put off by a trip to the museum, it’s a great thing to do with a group of friends. Plus, it might even be able to help you with your studies.
There are also plenty of art galleries in London, like the Guildhall Art Gallery, the National Gallery and Tate Modern. These are the best places to visit for art students, or if you’re after a bit of peace and quiet.
Nightclubs
If you’re visiting London, you won’t want to miss a night out. There is a huge variety of nightclubs around London that most of which will have special nights to cater to students – drinks and entry fees are much cheaper. Clubs such as Tiger Tiger (Picadilly Circus) and Zoo Bar (Leicester Square) will offer drinks from just £2 on student nights.
Shopping
People all around the country will visit London for its great shopping centres. Oxford Street is a brilliant place for those interested in the latest fashion trends with shops such as Urban Outfitters and House of Fraser. There is also the Westfield shopping centre in Stratford, Harrods in Knightsbridge and Carnaby Street.
Landmarks
London has a famous landmark on every corner so there are plenty of things to sightsee. The O2 is a great place to go and see a concert or gig and is surrounded by its own indoor streets full of shops and restaurants to visit. The London Eye is great around this time of year with its seasonally decorated capsules to view the whole of London from, and it’s “Eyeskate” ice-skating rink.
